Aluminum alloy and cast aluminum Wheel repair and restoration is more complicated that most people think.
Anyone can beat out a bend in a damaged rim with a hammer until the bent wheel rim is basically round again. This does not constitute an effective reconditioning of a bent rim or wheel. Structural integrity as well as the lug seat and beat seat of an aluminum alloy wheel is key to the performance and safety. An ill repaired wheel will vibrate and fracture from continued
use.
